God Gives You his Vineyard

Sermon Point: Christ was rejected and Israel was destroyed for you.

1. Look at this chain of events: Triumphal entry, cursing the fig tree, cleansing the temple, the withered fig tree, and now a parable.
2. Yes, Jesus retells and interprets Isaiah's parable of the the vineyard (Isaiah 5:1-7).
3. God is the owner; Israel is the vineyard (Isaiah 1:7).
4. The servants are the prophets; Jesus is the Son (Mark 12:2-5, Jeremiah 7:25).
5. Christ reminds you and me of how Psalm 118 applies to Him (Mark 12:10-11).
6. God then gives the vineyard to you and me (Mark 12:9).
