The Restoration of Peter

If you go through the Bible you will find that Jesus made numbers of resurrection appearances in various locations to His followers over a 40 DAY period between His resurrection and His ascension.

In John chapter 21 some of the disciples had gone fishing and Jesus reveals himself to them at the sea of Galilee.

I believe that in this passage also we see that Jesus restores Peter.
You will remember that prior to the crucifiction of Jesus that Peter had denied Christ 3 times.
In John chapter 18 we know that Peter denied Christ three times.
Peter failed the Lord big time and yet in John 21 we see the forgiveness of Jesus and really what is the restoration of Peter to Ministry.

Jesus made sure that his disciples and others knew that he was alive.

He made sure that all doubts about his resurrection were cleared away.

Jesus also wanted to make sure that Peter knew that he was forgiven.

John 21 is a chapter of hope for all those that have failed the Lord one time or another.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Jesus wanted Peter to know that despite his failures that Jesus still has a purpose in Ministry for Peter.
