The King's Coming

Once again, it is Palm Sunday. On this day each year we remember the entry of our great King into Jerusalem, for it was a small preview of His second coming when He will return to reign. Matthew the Evangelist has summarized the event in a few short verses, but there is a great deal here. We will attempt to hit some of the highlights as we remember what Jesus has done for us. We will see that the triumphal entry signals the gentle kingship of Jesus of Nazareth, His priestly task of cleansing God's worship, and prophetic mission of proclaiming God's word. It ends with a hint that though He has not finally ascended His throne, He will most certainly return to do so.
