Reformed Catholicity

Many Christians today experience a growing interest in ancient Christianity—church history, liturgy, and the early fathers—and sometimes that leads people to wonder whether Protestantism is disconnected from the historic church. But the truth is, the Reformed tradition was never meant to be historically thin or disconnected. The Reformers believed they stood firmly within the ancient catholic church.
This talk will help us with historical awareness—what it means to belong to the church across generations, how to understand tradition rightly, and why knowing our theological heritage strengthens our faith today. The goal isn't just historical knowledge, but developing a sensibility and deeper confidence that the faith we confess is not new, but rooted in the work of Christ among His people across generations.
