The Spirit of Life

Paul lays out two groups: those who are according to the flesh and those who are according to the Spirit. To live according to the flesh is death and slavery, and to live according to the Spirit is life, peace and freedom. Each one is a state of existence in one of 2 realms. The Christian, the true one, is in the latter. He cannot be "in the flesh" since the Spirit of God dwells in him. The Christian doesn't need life: he has life. He doesn't need freedom: he has freedom. The Christian has the certain hope of resurrection due to the presence of the Spirit.
