The case for the defense

Here Paul was on trial, both at the time that Luke was writing this treatise and also at the time Luke was now writing about. In both cases it was important to point out that the God that Paul worshiped was already accounted for in the legally accepted religions of the day. It was simply a matter of presenting the case for the defense when it came to God and Jesus.
