The Doves That Died At Christmas

Our Pastor Emeritus invites us to rejoice at Christmas ... and to remember that Christmas was also a time of sacrifice and pain! In one of the most unusual Christmas Lord's Suppers we have ever had, Pastor placed two, beautiful, white doves on a pedestal beside his lectern to remind us that redemption from sin requires a blood sacrifice. (Leviticus 17:11) The prescribed procedures, which Pastor discreetly describes, reveal a God Who decreed as painless a death as possible in response to the curse of sin. By contrast, consider how much our Lord suffered, "the Just for the unjust."
