The Test of Love (Revisited and Expanded) Pt.3

Today's sermon by Pastor Ron is based on I John 4:12-16

I John 4:16 We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

It's hard for us to understand how God could live in us and us in Him. It really stretches our mind to get a grip on this concept. As you listen to this message you will understand what God means by this as Pastor Ron unpacks these scriptures.

1. HOW GOD'S ABIDING PRESENCE MANIFESTS ITSELF (V 12)

   a. Not through an external appearance (V12a)

   b. But through the internal virtue of love (V12b)

2. HOW WE KNOW THAT WE ABIDE IN HIM AND HE IN US (V 13-16)

   a. Mutual Abiding is confirmed by the indwelling Holy Spirit (V13)

   b. Mutual Abiding is confirmed by our confession of Christ (V14-15)

   c. Mutual Abiding is confirmed by our saving knowledge of God's love. (V 16)
