To be bounded by God's ordination of baptism means that we have declared to the world that our old self is no longer who we are.

1. Many in the church today do not understand what they are declaring to the world when they are baptized.
2. Baptism was given of God as a sign that we do not identify with our old selves.
   a. Baptism signifies the finality of the death to the old self.
   b. Baptism signifies the glorious work of God in us.
   c. Baptism signifies our new identity in Christ.
   d. Baptism signifies that our old self no longer exists.
3. If our baptism is genuine, we are now controlled by Christ, NOT our flesh.
