When a Christian grieves the Lord because of sin, the Lord will quite often withdraw His presence from that Christian. When the Lord withdraws it can leave the child of God feeling very sad. that sadness can be likened to a spiritual sickness, and that sickness can only be cured by the Lord's return to fellowship with His child.
