In this lesson, the moral law (as summarized in the 10 commandments) is distinguished from the civil/social law of Israel and the ceremonial law of Israel. God took special measures to make a clear distinction between that which is ever-abiding (the moral law) and that which was always meant to be temporary in nature (the civil and ceremonial law).
