What Will You Do?

Jeremiah complains to the Lord about the condition of the nation and the threats against his preaching the Word of the Lord to them, contradicting the false message of peace by the false prophets among them. The Lord rebukes Jeremiah by asking, If he is wearied while running with footmen, what will he do when he contends with horses? The point is that Jeremiah will face greater persecution and trials to come. God does not take us out of the fire. He walks with us through it.
