The Lamb and the 144,000 Following Him

As God's final chapter of earth's history was being revealed to John it records what will be Satan's attempt to prevent the salvation of Israel as a nation. That salvation is revealed as preceding the establishment of Christ's kingdom which is what Satan is desperate to keep from happening. He knows that when Christ takes His throne Satan not only loses his power but also will be confined in hell and begin his eternal punishment along with all his followers, spirit and human. Following Christ in this preview of His return are the 144,000 who are identified as having been redeemed by Him, the Lamb and together they are seen on Mt. Zion. These 144,000 were previously identified in chapter seven as the Jewish remnant consisting of twelve-thousand from each of the twelve tribes of Israel who were sealed with "the seal of the living God."
