The Jealousy of God and the Adulterous Believer

The believer is betrothed to the Lord Jesus and as a betrothal gift Christ has put His own Spirit with in us. That Spirit pants with jealous love for our full love in return. It is this love we wander from when we chose to love ourselves and to love the offers of this world. Consider how such worldly love expresses itself in our lives. The three stages of wandering from the from God's love is friendship with the World, enmity towards God and adultery against Him.
