Pulling Down Strongholds

Using the military image of a city under siege, Paul describes three phases in the attack:

1. The pulling down of the defensive walls;

2. The taking of captives;

3. The punishment of the disobedient.

Paul applies this to Christ's conflict with an ungodly culture and to the conversion of sinners.
