The Messiah's Ministry

Aim: To live in, through, and for Christ and His ministry.
Doctrine: The Messiah's ministry fully meets the needs of His church. Christ answers our sin and death issues, and Christ is our life, here and hereafter.
Exegesis: Lovely aspects of Jesus' covenant care: He tenderly watches over His people (vv. 12-13); He alone justifies His people (vv. 14-16); He fulfills all the offices for His people (vv. 17-18).
Further application: How we experience the Messiah's ministry: by cleaving to Jesus in the gospel of grace, and believing that Christ loves His redeemed church.
Key verse: v. 15 ''In those days and at that time I will cause a righteous Branch to spring up for David, and he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.''
