The Usefulness of God's Word

The clearest revelation we have of God is in His Word. His Word is foundational to everything in life. Not only is it useful for revealing to us how to be saved, but also how to learn, mature and live life full, abundant and meaningful. When God speaks He expects to be obeyed.

He has spoken clearly in such a way that He can be understood. He selected individuals, prepared them and then moved them to write His very words clearly and exactly. The accuracy of the text of His Word we have today has been preserved and withstood as the thousands of manuscripts testify.

God's word then, having been given forth, always accomplishes His purposes. For those who will read and heed it, it is useful for teaching about God Himself, about His will, and something of the future to come. It also serves when necessary to reprove, correct and train believers so we can meet God's demands and be everything He wants us to be, doing everything He wants us to do.
