The God Who Needs Nothing

At the invitation of a group of pagan philosophers, the Apostle Paul goes to the Aeropagus (Mars Hill) in Athens and shares the gospel. He speaks of "the" God (not "a" god) who made the world and all things in it. In contrast to their paganistic ways of placating their deities, Paul speaks of God as one who cannot be served because He has no needs. He does not live in temples made with human hands. Nor can you appease Him with bribes. Sinners should seek Him; but they must know that they are at His mercy.
