Series Chronology of the Gospels
The Bible says, the birth of Jesus was on this wise (Mt 1.18 KJV), and Matthew explains the virgin birth in a paragraph. But Luke spends as much time on the birth of Jesus as he does on the crucifixion. To Luke, who was writing his gospel to the church, the birth of God in the flesh was ultra-important to the good news of Jesus, the Messiah. As such, the gospels give us an amazing picture of the deity of Jesus in the birth of the LORD.
