Beloved Son, Beloved King

King Jesus is the True and Faithful Israelite who hears and responds to the prophetic summons of God to return to the wilderness as God’s Son and to willingly submit to God’s judgment on sin symbolized by John’s baptism, to confront Satan and overcome temptation where Israel failed, and to prepare True Israel for the Kingdom of God.
