The Formation of the Nations

After the judgment of the flood, the earth was re-populated through Noah's three sons and their descendants. Genesis 10 reveals a carefully planned literary masterpiece. it is evident that the dispersion of the descendants of Noah was under the sovereign direction of divine Providence. Although this second "race" of people were also permeated with sin, as was the first "race," God's plan to redeem a people for himself was initiated through Eber and the line of his descendants (more details in chapter 11) culminating in the birth of the distant Messiah Jesus Christ, who alone is the Savior of all nations who believe.
