Reviling Sin & Respecting Self

When confronted with the temptations towards the defeating sins of our past the pattern is to grant regard and respect towards that sinful pattern as if it is dominant in our lives. At the same time we find ourselves reproaching and loathing ourselves for being such weaklings and failures before this seemingly inevitable fall. But our approach is uninformed. We have not learned what Christ is for us and in us and we have not learned what He has made of us through His justifying and regenerating work. We will learn here to revile our sins and to respect ourselves.
