God's Mighty Deeds in History

The Lord is consistent in His means and judgments. His trumpets have a characteristic sound. He sounded them long ago to the Egyptians, but they would not listen. Again, they sounded to Israel when the Israelites began to rebel against the Lord, but they would not listen. They sounded once more in Israel after the return to the Land following the Babylonian Captivity, but Jerusalem was ultimately wiped out in 70 AD because those people would not listen - not even to the Son of God who came among them. They have continued to sound down through history - Rome would not listen, and the nations are not listening to them today - not even our own nation with its heritage of Christ's light.
