Mark 14:53-72 (Part 2)
Series Mark
In this message from Mark 14:53–72, we step into one of the most intense nights in Scripture, a night of trials. But there isn't just one… There are two unfolding at the same time.
Upstairs, Jesus stands before the Sanhedrin, truth on trial, rejected, twisted, and condemned. Downstairs, Peter stands in the courtyard, faith on trial, pressured, exposed, and ultimately collapsing under fear.
This sermon focuses on the intangibles of these two trials, what was said, what was revealed, and what it all means in the greater plan of redemption. We see how false religion distorts truth, how fear exposes the weakness of man, and how Christ remains steady where we fail.
But the message doesn't stop there.
We close by looking at the third trial, the one every person must face. The same question asked in that courtroom still echoes today:
"Art thou the Christ?"
Many have stood in that trial: Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman, Pilate, the rich young ruler, and each rendered a verdict.
Now it's our turn.
