When Fear Rises, Trust God’s Word | Psalm 56

Psalm 56 is a psalm of trust written in the midst of fear—not after it has passed.

In this episode of Reading the Bible Daily with Dave, Dave Jenkins walks through Psalm 56 and shows how David responds to real danger, opposition, and anxiety—not by denying fear, but by anchoring his heart in the Word and promises of God.

This psalm teaches us:

• Fear is real, but it does not have to rule
• Trust is a decision grounded in God's Word
• God sees every tear and knows every struggle
• Believers are never abandoned, even in the midst of pressure

David writes from a place of vulnerability, surrounded by enemies and uncertainty, yet he declares:
"When I am afraid, I put my trust in you" (Psalm 56:3).

Ultimately, Psalm 56 points us to Jesus Christ, who faced suffering and opposition without sin and secured our hope through His finished work.

Because Christ has overcome, believers can trust God even when fear rises.
