Certain Hope in Uncertain Times

"One night on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus was in the boat with his disciples when a violent storm arose and the disciples thought they were going to die. They cried out 'save us Lord, we are perishing.' After Jesus rebuked them for their lack of faith, he calmed the storm, and they were left in amazement. But who do you think sent the storm? God sent the storm so that the disciples would begin to understand who was in the boat with them. "One modern hymnwriter writes: 'Who holds our faith when fears arise? Who stands above the stormy trial? Who sends the waves that bring us nigh unto the shore, the rock of Christ?' You see friends, it is God who sends the wave that throws us against the Rock that is Christ, so let us not be afraid."
