Exposition of Romans - Part-58 (Romans 9:1-5).

This sermon/lesson was delivered at the Princess Chapel Church in Ashland, KY by Pastor Douglas Salyer, the Exposition from Romans as part of the Expository Bible Study, verse by verse through the Book of Romans. This lesson, Part-58, from Romans chapter 9.

The text used was taken from Romans 9:1-5. This lesson shows us the deep burden and passion of a man with a missionary heart.

As Paul writes, 'I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.
3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh.'

Then He goes on to tell us of the Sovereignty of God, in that God chose Israel and give unto them and them only such blessing.

What blessing were they granted?

Blessing 1 - Israel had the Adoption.

Blessing 2 - Israel had the Glory.

Blessing 3 - Israel was given the Covenants.

Blessing 4 - Israel was given the Law.

Blessing 5 – Israel had the service of God.

Blessing 6 – Israel had the Promises.

Blessing 7 – Israel had the fathers.

Blessing 8 – Israel had the Christ / the Messiah.
