Marriage (Commandment #7 Part 1)

The sermon establishes marriage as a divinely instituted, covenantal, and foundational institution rooted in Genesis 1–2, where God creates humanity as male and female to fulfill a shared mission of subduing and filling the earth, reflecting the Trinitarian nature of God. Marriage's primary purpose is not personal fulfillment but the pursuit of God's mission, companionship, community, and godliness, with the ultimate aim of fostering holiness and mutual spiritual growth. The sermon then elevates this earthly institution to its highest meaning by revealing the marriage between Christ and His church as the ultimate reality, in which believers are called to love, submit to, and remain faithful to Christ as their Bridegroom, while warning that outward participation without genuine spiritual union leads to judgement. The call to action is clear: to honor, promote, and live out marriage in a Christ-centered way, both in personal relationships and in society, as a testimony to the eternal union between Christ and His people.
