Assurance - The Test of Truth

Idea: John gives comfort while urging watchfulness against false teaching. This fits his purpose of assurance by giving the test of truth.

Intro: But before getting to how the test of truth gives assurance, John describes the false teachers, calling them Antichrist. As the concept of antichrist is often misunderstood, I plan to pause and consider the need for the church to be watchful against false teaching.
