Colossians 4:2-6 - Evangelism: Pray for Open Doors

In Col 4:2-6, Paul continues to instruct how the Christian's new life of the incomparable Christ should be lived out in relationships. Here it is with the relationships of those who are "outside" of Christ and the family of God. And the two main topics of exhortation are that of the Christian's speech and prayer.

In this sermon, Paul's exhortation concerning prayer from Col 4:2-4 is highlighted. Three general principles of prayer are examined in verse 2: steadfastness, watchfulness, and thankfulness. And then one great purpose for prayer is exhorted in verses 3-4: the opening of the doors of opportunity, hearts, and mouths so that the Gospel of Christ may be proclaimed to and received by lost sinners.
