Scriptural Basis of Discipline Part One -- Heritage Baptist Church

This short series comprises the weekend conference for Heritage Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. This first message emphasizes the Scriptural Principles of Discipline. It approaches the written Word of God as holy, eternal, inerrant, and authoritative in all areas of disciplining and training children. Major points are A. Ephesians 6:1 For a child to live in a right relationship with God he must obey his parents B. Ephesians 6:2 The child's behavior must be honoring both in the public and private domain. C. Ephesians 6:3 The primary question a parent asks himself is how will this behavior impact my child's success, my child's wellbeing in school, in church and in the future in terms of work and family. D. Ephesians 6:4 It is the father's responsibility to bring the child up in the both the discipline and the instruction of the Lord. In the Biblical paradigm child raising is not and has never been “women's work”.
