What are the Biblical Qualifications for those who are Elders?

The office of elder is a noble calling to which a man is commended to aspire to if the Lord is calling him to service. Some of the requirements described in Timothy and Titus require positive obedience, but some are negative in their application. Some requirements are character traits and some are habitual, but some requirements are learned qualities. While not all are called to serve, these qualities represented by the elder are to be a model upon which all Christians are to submit to and strive toward.
