Solomon's Dedicatory Prayer

While Solomon faces the House of God, which is presently filled with the glory of the Lord, he first acknowledges the purpose for the temple, that it is the LORD's habitation among men. Then he offers a prayer is that strongly based upon the 28th chapter of Deuteronomy, but with this difference concerning sin, that 'when' we sin, rather than 'if'. The wise man knew well his own heart and the hearts of all men. The chapter closes giving a brief account of the multitudinous sacrifices offered at the temple dedication, and the dismissal of all the people to their tents.
