Jesus' Condemnation of the Religious Leaders - Part 2

I. The warning to the disciples and crowds, 1-12

A. What Jesus said the leaders were:
#1: Control-seekers, 1-4
#2: Praise-seekers, 5
#3: Pre-eminence-seekers, 6-7

B. The leaders sought:

1. They sought the best places at the feasts
2. They sought the best seats in the synagogue
3. They sought greetings in the market places
4. They sought addresses of “Rabbi”

C. Jesus says:
#1: Don’t seek pre-eminence for yourselves, 8, 10
#2: Don’t recognize pre-eminence in others, 9
#3: Don’t place yourselves above others but instead serve them, 11
