God Roars Against the Nations
Series OT Sermons
One, God takes notice of each nation.
Two, God judges and will judge each nation.
Three, God's people are not defined by nations but by their faith in Christ.
THEREFORE…
•We can easily relish the judgment of the nations but let us remember, unless we repent, we too will perish.
• Let us ask the Lord to stop Russia from committing Ammon's sin against Ukraine. But let us also know that God often judges nations (like Israel) by bringing war upon them.
• Let us pray that God would have mercy so as to stop this bloodshed.
• Let us pray for God to keep His people safe and to be faithful witnesses.
• Also, these wars will characterize the interim period before Christ comes back. The Bible tells us, "And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet." (Mt. 24:6)
• Let us not be alarmed but let us be faithful unto the end (Mt. 24:6-8).
6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.
• Our hope and expectation must not be on world peace. That will NEVER happen. Fallen man can never usher that in.
• Let us remember, there will never be global peace until Christ returns. We can make the best of what we can and strive for international peace but it can't happen — it is impossible.
