A Question in Darkness

In this passage, God poses a question to us: Who is walking in darkness? As we consider this question, we learn the following from the passage

1. The character of the godly in the question considered

• they are God-fearers (worship and watchfulness)
• they obey the Lord

2. The condition of the godly

• they walk in darkness (William Cowper)
• the reasons for darkness
  to show us his faithfulness and power
  to strengthen our faith and build us up
  to sanctify and refine us

3. the conclusion for the godly

• Let him trust in the Lord
• a caution against trusting in our own resources
