WHEN DARKNESS THINKS IT HAS WON

WHEN DARKNESS THINKS IT HAS WON. 2 Timothy 2:8 (KJV) On what felt like the darkest Friday in history, it looked like evil had triumphed, hope had died, and the story was over. But Sunday was already on the calendar. What seemed like defeat was only the doorway to victory. The cross was not the end—Resurrection Morning was coming.Paul reminds us in 2 Timothy 2:8 to "Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel." When darkness presses in, when trials linger, and when it feels like Friday won't end, we are called to remember.I. Remember Who Jesus Is He is not just a teacher or martyr—He is the risen Christ, the promised Messiah, the Son of David, and the conquering King. Our faith rests not in a memory, but in a living Savior.II. Remember What Darkness Can't Do Darkness cannot cancel God's promises. It cannot silence God's power. It cannot keep Jesus in the grave. No matter how convincing it looks, darkness never gets the final word.III. Remember Why We EndureWe endure because our suffering is not meaningless. Just as Friday led to Sunday, our trials are preparing something greater. We endure for the sake of the Gospel, for the sake of others, and because resurrection hope sustains us.IV. Remember How the Story EndsThe tomb is empty. Jesus is alive. Victory is secure. We do not live in Friday's feelings—we stand on Sunday's facts. The resurrection guarantees that no darkness in our lives is permanent. When darkness thinks it has won, hold on. Morning is coming. Resurrection is coming. And because Jesus lives, hope lives too.
