Pleasing Men or Pleasing God

In order to undermine his authority, the false teachers accuse Paul of being a people pleaser -- changing his message to fit the crowd. Nothing could be further from the truth! On the contrary, Paul was uncompromising in his presentation of Christ.

In truth, it are the legalist that are people pleasers. With their list of do's and don'ts they seek to impress and even intimidate others. Like thier philosophical forefathers the Pharisees, they live their religion to be seen of men. Legalism sucks the life out of the Christian and the Church where it is practiced.
