Promises, Promises, Promises
Series Series in Joshua
Aim: To understand that God is absolutely faithful to His word.
Exegesis: God's gospel promise saves us. The promise is fulfilled for us in God's covenant with Abraham (v. 43a) and God's seed of Abraham (v. 43b). God's gospel promise secures us. We are safe (v. 44a) and strong (v. 44b) in Christ. God's gospel promise satisfies us. The Lord is always truthful (v. 45a) and faithful (v. 45b) with us.
Key verse: v. 45 ''Not a word failed of any good thing which the LORD had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass.''
