Standing before God
Series Colossians
God's reconciliation of us through Christ was a purposeful action with the ultimate aim of presenting us holy, blameless, and above reproach in his sight.
We need to take into account here the great day when we shall all stand before God, at which point the great separation will be made between the righteous, the blessed, and the wicked, the cursed.
Paul assures us that in that day every saint will stand before God not alienated and enemies, but holy (set apart to God in perfect consecration), blameless (flawless, faultless, without blemish), and above reproach (above accusation, without a stain on our character).
The transition from estranged enemies to those who will stand before a holy God in this glorious condition hinges upon the reconciliation that is in Christ, by his death on the cross.
