Decisive Contrasts: Choices - Part 57

The Lord Jesus Christ, coming to the summit of His sermon mount, as a good teacher/preacher of the gospel, he invites His audience to self-introspect. He, with urgency gives metaphorical contrasts of: a) The two gates, to convey a call to decide b) the two roads (as a call to discipleship and cost counting) c) the two destinations (destruction or life) and finally d) the two crowds (many and few). These motifs demand for applicatory commitments: i) to examine ones entrance ii) to evaluate the path iii) as Christ's followers, to expect difficulties, yet to respond without discouragement, iv) to beware of the majority's loud voices of feigned comfort; finally, v) the need to respond today, because of the urgency with which Jesus demand for an immediate response.
