Lighthouse Radio Bible Study Lesson #2196
Primary Scripture Reference: Isaiah 34:9-17 (KJV)
Additional Scripture References:
Jeremiah 49:17-18
Romans 11:22
1 John 3:14
Key Points from this Lesson:
When it comes to understanding scripture, we must remember that context is king.
We must honor the Word of God with an effort to understand the context.
We must give one another grace and try to understand context before rushing to judgment.
God's Word is always sure.
This is comforting and terrifying.
We should expect judgment and destruction.
Without Christ, we are the enemies of God and His people.
The promises of God are sure both in redemption and destruction.
God will not overlook sin.
Behold the goodness and severity of God.
Edom and all of the enemies of God were going to be decimated.
Let us see the severity of God and be grateful for His goodness toward us.
We must heed the lessons of Edom's experience.
They did not love their brethren and cheered when they were taken away captive.
They gave their brethren no refuge.
Let us love God first. Let us love others as ourselves.
God has reconciled us to himself through the blood of Christ.
We know that we are his by our love for one another.
