The Dutch Second Reformation

This course offers a historical overview of the theological movement known as “De Nadere Reformatie” or Second Reformation in the Netherlands, covering the period between the mid-16th and late 18th centuries. An attempt is made to set this movement in the wider context of Reformed pietism, particularly English Puritanism, highlighting both similarities and differences between these closely related movements of the Spirit.
