Jesus Forsaken

Today we continue our sermon series in Mark's Gospel. We have come to the very climax of Mark. In the passage we are looking at today, Mark shows us what Jesus the Son of God did to open the way for sinners (all are sinners) to come to God. In these words, Mark presents us with the most extraordinary event in history. It is more remarkable than the creation of the world and it is more remarkable than either the incarnation or the resurrection of our Lord. We are told here that the Son of God was forsaken by God.
