Inside Bethel: Jesse Westwood on False Prophecy, Signs & a Missing Gospel
Series Sound Theology and Discernment
In this episode of Sound Theology and Discernment, Justin Peters interviews Jesse Westwood, a former Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry alumnus, about his years inside the Bethel movement and why he ultimately rejected its prophetic practices and claims of supernatural signs.
They discuss modern prophecy, words of knowledge, treasure hunts, and sensational phenomena such as "gold dust" and "angel feathers," and examine these claims in light of Scripture. This conversation explains why normalizing false prophecy is spiritually dangerous, how a low view of God's Word harms people, and why the true work of the Holy Spirit centers on sanctification and gospel truth, not spectacle.
Listeners are encouraged to test all things by Scripture, recover a proper fear of God, and rest in the sufficiency and final authority of God's Word.
