TEXT: 2 Chron. 34:1-7 2 Kings 22:1-20

SUMMARY: The religious reformation inaugurated by Josiah is one of the boldest in the history of national Israel, and it falls into two major areas, which are parallel to the work of sanctification or conversion in the Christian life: (1) the rooting out of idolatry, and (2) the restoration of proper worship.

I. THE ROOTING OUT OF IDOLATRY.

B. Josiah's Later Reforms, 2 Ki. 23:1-20.

1. The removal of pagan idols from the temple.
2. The removal of idolatrous priests.
3. The eradication of the worship of the heavens.
4. The destruction of various abominations of previous kings
