Repent, Turn to God and Do Works Befitting Repentance
Series Exposition of Acts
In this week's passage, Acts 26:19-32, as Paul finishes his defense before Agrippa and Festus explaining why the Jews were trying to kill him because he obeyed God, we see two different responses to Paul's explanation. Festus decides that Paul must be mad from his knowledge from the Scriptures. His position is that Paul is taking these things too seriously to the point that others would want to kill him. Agrippa's response is more positive, but no more hopeful. "You have almost persuaded me to become a Christian." Almost being persuaded, but not submitting to God doesn't save anyone. Whether you respond with ridicule or with sincere consideration, only through submission to Christ is the path to salvation.
