Self Deception

These are some of the most disturbing verses in the Bible. 'Many,' Jesus said, 'will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord'...and I will say to them, 'Depart from Me, you workers of iniquity, I never knew you'. These people thought they were Christians, but they were self-deceived. This text not only announces what will be, but it also gives to us clues as to what the cause of self-deception is. What is at the bottom of this kind of self-delusion?
