Calvinism is Wrong on Election

This Sermon shows that Calvinism is a faulty theology which casts doubt on the character of God and which also distorts the Word of God.

Peter says that the Christians in Asia Minor are ELECT in 1 Peter 1.2.

There are those in churches today that believe that God elects people to Hell. This is an unscriptural theology.

According to the Apostle Peter in this passage, he states that the Christian is elected according to the foreknowledge of God the Father.

The Greek Word for Foreknowledge is the word prognosis. We know the Word Prognosis as a medical term. If someone has a disease like Cancer doctors can give a prognosis. A doctor can give his patients a Prognosis of a disease like cancer knowing beforehand, the normal progression of how the Cancer acts.

In 1 Peter 1.2 we see that Christians are elected according to Foreknowledge.

God knows who will trust in Him and who will not because God has foreknowledge of everything before it happens.

There are numbers of people in Reformed/Calvinistic Churches who believe that God Elects some people to be saved and He elects some people to be dammed.

Calvinist theology is expressed in the Westminster Confession which was drawn up in the 1640’s.

The Confession says, CHAPTER 3 - Of God's Eternal Decree: III. By the decree of God, for the manifestation of his glory, some men and angels are predestinated unto everlasting life, and others foreordained (to determine or appoint beforehand) to everlasting death.

The Bible speaks otherwise in that God is not willing that any should perish..
