Freed by the Promises

Do you "listen to the law"? An interesting question. You who want to be, who desire to be, who have indicated a willingness to, indeed, you who have expressed a choice, to subject yourselves to and come under the law . . . do you know it? Have you heard it? Are you knowledgeable about it? This is what Paul is asking. Have you studied the law . . . redemptive history? That which will tell you much about what you, Galatians, are seeking to bind yourself to. And then, Paul opens up the Scriptures to them, showing them that even the "barren woman" was to rejoice in her barrenness, as he entices these to see the blessedness of the freedom in clinging to the promises of God in Christ.
